"...Another task we want to accomplish is to go to the source of both rivers. The beginning of the Rio Grande is in the San Juan Mountains of southern Colorado. While Anne is in New Mexico we will get up the difficult road to witness the start of a great river. The Schelde rises out of the ground as a spring in Northern France. Our plan is to go to the source by public transit and return to Vlissingan by cargo ship. Each of our actions will be as ecologically aware as possible. Both Ausloos and Irland work with the processes of natural systems, often letting the work evolve over a period of time...."
